We are thrilled to announce that Mary, a ridiculously awesome soul within our community, is our newest Consuela Viva Babe! Mary's heartwarming story and selfless dedication to giving back has touched the lives of many in Central Texas!
From her early upbringing to her role as a devoted mother and grandmother, Mary embodies the spirit of generosity and compassion for others. Inspired by her father, Roy, Mary channels her passion for education and community service through every aspect of her life. What sets Mary apart is her generosity in uplifting and celebrating educators in the greater Austin area with her monthly gift basket giveaways. She personally funds the gift baskets filled with love, Bath & Body Works products, local treats, and goodies to distribute to teachers and school staff. She also regularly volunteers at a local elementary and high school.
Her community impact resonates deeply with our Consuela Flagship store team. Mary's warmth, encouragement, and the love she shares with those she meets leaves an enduring legacy. "A hug from Mary is a gift that touches the heart and soul," remarked Melonie who nominated Mary.
In 2015 Mary started the Roy Montelongo Scholarship Foundation, with the mission to seek out deserving high school students in Travis, Williamson, and Hays counties, with a music-oriented background, to provide financial assistance for their college endeavors. This is truly a work of love by Mary and the board members to diligently fundraise to be able to support four future musicians annually with scholarships and keep her father's legacy alive.
Mary's favorite mantra, "It's good to give back to the less fortunate," speaks volumes about her values and the legacy she carries from her grandparents and her beloved father. Even in her grief and loss, Mary finds strength in carrying her dad's teachings and passion for education every day.
Join us in celebrating Mary's well-deserved recognition as a certified Consuela Viva Babe! Your unwavering spirit and dedication to others inspire us all. Congratulations, Mary!
