She’s a hero and a savior!

Lindsey is an Assistant Principal at an elementary school in New Braunfels, Texas, and she was nominated by the mother of one of her students, Lisa. Lisa says, “In 2014 my son Matthew was in desperate need of a kidney. His current transplant (from a cadaver) was failing. The doctors told us it would be a ‘one in a million chance’ in finding the perfect living donor, but on Christmas, we were notified we had a perfect match; his first-grade teacher, Lindsey! In March 2015, Lindsey successfully donated one of her kidneys to Matthew and both are still doing well.”

Lindsey is widely known as an educator that surpasses expectations. “Lindsey was already known to be a teacher to go above and beyond, but it was a complete surprise to learn our son's 1st-grade teacher willingly agreed to give a kidney to save Matthew's life”, Lisa says.
