Join us in celebrating the incredible Iris, our newest Viva Babe! Iris's journey is inspiring and filled with dedication, resilience, and boundless compassion. As she gracefully accepted the Viva Babe award, Iris expressed her heartfelt gratitude to the Todos Juntos Learning Center team for nominating her for this honor. "I felt so surprised; the bags are beautiful – it is the celebration moment that will forever stay with me. You all made me feel very special," she shared, reflecting on the joyous occasion.
Originally from El Salvador, Iris's upbringing instilled in her the values of kindness and giving back. Since arriving in the USA at the age of 24, Iris has exemplified her life mantra, "All things are possible with God," with unwavering determination. She pursued her education at Austin Community College. Also, she graduated from the Todos Juntos English as a Second Language program in 2021, balancing studies and working part-time while raising her daughter alongside her very supportive husband.
Iris's dedication to service shines brightly as it's come full circle now, and she is a ridiculously awesome volunteer with Todos Juntos Learning Center, where she regularly supports other immigrant and refugee families. Her commitment to community empowerment and collaboration embodies everything Todos Juntos stands for; as Katie, Programs Director, shared: "Iris is an endless supporter of others and a joy to know."

We honor Iris's remarkable achievements and celebrate her dedication to family and community. Iris's daughter is thriving in kindergarten; thanks to her incredible, compassionate parenting and commitment to volunteering at Todos Juntos Learning Center and Elgin Food Pantry, she continues to make a meaningful impact on the lives of others.
