We are thrilled to honor their extraordinary dedication, growth mindset, and exceptional teamwork as they receive the latest Viva Babe award! Within the heart of the Con Mi MADRE team, they cultivate a vibrant community of unwavering support for Latina students and their mothers, going above and beyond to ensure their mission becomes a reality every semester.
The Con Mi MADRE team's remarkable commitment to empowering young Latinas and their mothers through education and support services has a tremendous impact on our community. Their mission to increase preparedness, participation, and success in post-secondary education creates positive ripple effects with the families they serve.
Surprised with the Viva Babe Award on International Women's Day, it was the perfect moment to celebrate their ridiculously awesome contributions to young Latinas. Our employees paraded with shakers from the back of our flagship store, presenting each Con Mi MADRE team member with a Viva Babe Award and Consuela bags.
"It was such a sweet surprise from Consuela, and it made us feel appreciated and seen by them and the Consuela community for what we do. And such a beautiful way to end International Women’s Day!" shared Vanesa, CTX Program Coordinator.
The Con Mi MADRE team's work is pivotal and makes an extraordinary impact. In 2023, they served 923 participants, including 84% Hispanic/Latinx students, 52% first-generation students, and 74% students from economically disadvantaged backgrounds. Their dedication to meeting participants' holistic needs and vision to rewrite the narrative of their families and communities is truly commendable.
With over 16 years of distinguished service, the Con Mi MADRE team has touched the lives of over 900 participants annually. They are witnessing a growing demand for their mission amidst an evolving societal and education landscape.
Con Mi MADRE's focus on helping young Latinas graduate high school, enroll in college, and successfully earn a degree has been transformative since its inception. Their intentional engagement of mothers in every aspect of programming underscores the importance of parental involvement in the education process. They have remarkably assisted over 3,000 mother-daughter teams on their journey to and through post-secondary education.
