AMY SAVES FAMILIES!
Amy is a full-time Juvenile Probation Officer and full-time Counselor/Therapist who lives in Slippery Rock, Pennsylvania, and was nominated by Carey. Carey says, "She works with families to help them parent their adopted kids who had early childhood neglect and trauma." Amy treats kids with Reactive Attachment Disorder (RAD). Generally, these kids have experienced significant trauma before the age of five and don't establish healthy attachments with parents or caregivers. Amy also travels across the country educating, counseling, and advocating for youth with severe and persistent mental illness. Carey summarizes Amy's work life with, "Amy saves families! Amy is a bad@ss! She is the most honest and forthcoming person I know."

Amy saves countless families, including her own. Carey says, "In June of 2014, Amy's sister-in-law, Hannah, was killed in a head-on collision by a man who had a 'death wish'. Amy's brother, Joel, was left to raise three very young daughters without his wife. Amy stepped in and became more than an aunt. She selflessly took them in and helped her brother get back on track. Then, this spring, Joel passed away, leaving his three daughters in the care of Amy."

Carey says, "Amy is an amazing person who gives herself fully to all who need her! I can't imagine the world without her in it!"
Amy, thank you for being an EPIC Viva Babe, stepping in when needed most, and mending families! WOW!
