STEPHANIE R
STEPHANIE IS THE MOST INCREDIBLE AND SELF-SACRIFICING WOMAN I HAVE EVER MET. SHE ASKS FOR SO VERY LITTLE BUT GIVES EVERYTHING.
Stephanie started Beyond Trafficking, a non-profit dedicated to bringing awareness to human trafficking and building a safe house for survivors in West Texas. Stephanie was nominated by fellow board member Kezia, who says, “Stephanie is the most incredible and self-sacrificing woman I have ever met. She asks for so very little but gives everything. A few years ago, while in Ecuador, she was confronted with the world of human trafficking. She instantly knew she wanted to create a safe house for the women and children who were being abused. She started to create relationships and actively works with the community there, to bring awareness and education to the community.”
Fast forward a few years, and Stephanie “became aware of the issue in the US and started Beyond Trafficking in Abilene, Texas. With little support and only a vision, she had her first ‘Walk for Freedom’ two years ago, and the program has continued to grow. She has quit her job to make this a full-time commitment to serve West Texas and the victims of human trafficking,” Kezia says.
Walk for Freedom is their “global response to human trafficking–an outward expression of their inward desire to see slavery abolished everywhere, forever,” and is happening next Saturday, Oct. 16, in Abilene. https://www.beyondtrafficking.com
Stephanie shares her mantra from Mother Theresa, “I alone cannot change the world, but I can cast a stone across the waters to create many ripples.”
Stephanie, your ripples are making big waves and an incredible difference.
