Sandra is the General Manager of a hotel in Columbus, Texas, and was nominated by one of her employees, Georgina. Georgina shares, "My boss has had several life challenges and obstacles, including raising her three sons as a single mother without assistance. She started as a Housekeeper, making minimum wage, and she moved through the ranks as Front Desk Manager, working all shifts, and becoming General Manager of the hotel."
Her strong work ethic, dedication to the team, and leadership don't go unnoticed! Georgina says, "Sandra has 25 plus years experience under her belt and is still willing to do housekeeping as needed, and she is willing to give people a second chance despite their background. She had to become knowledgeable of the kitchen/cook position and laundry duties as the hospitality turnover rate is ridiculously high. My boss has earned her chair as General Manager at this hotel along with all the good and bad that come with running a hotel. My hat's off to my awesome boss, who has come a long way from being a housekeeper to a General Manager and deserves big recognition for never giving up!"
