NURSE LETTY G

SHE WAS NOT ONLY A NURSE FOR STUDENTS, BUT SHE TOOK CARE OF ALL OF US. SHE FIXED BROKEN SKIN AND BROKEN HEARTS. SHE MADE SURE WE WERE ALL DOING FINE. SHE DEDICATED HER LIFE TO MAKING SURE EVERY ONE OF US WAS OKAY.
Nurse Letty displays care and compassion above all. She’s much more than a healer of boo-boos; she’s a healer of souls.

Nurse Letty has been a nurse for 38 years and has attended to the Mission CISD students and staff in South Texas for the last 32. She was nominated by her colleague, Lina, who says, “To know her is to love her! She made such an impact on our campus, and although she retired this past school year, she is not forgotten. She was not only a nurse for students, but she took care of all of us. She fixed broken skin and broken hearts. She made sure we were all doing fine. She dedicated her life to making sure every one of us was okay. There was always a line of students in her office, most of the time not feeling sick, but just wanted to visit with her for a while. She loved us all, and we loved her.”

Nurse Letty’s nurturing and compassionate spirit knows no bounds! Lina says, “When Covid hit, she never stopped making sure we were okay. She not only took care of our campus but volunteered her time after school and on weekends vaccinating our elderly community. She prayed with those who were afraid and lent a listening ear to all those that needed it.”

Lina says, “She is a true gift from God, and it is my pleasure to nominate Nurse Letty for all she did for our campus and our community!

Nurse Letty modestly proclaims she simply followed the nursing code of ethics and believes wholeheartedly in treating everyone the same, treating everyone like family.
