SHE WORKS TIRELESSLY TO SAY YES, TO KEEP MUSIC ALIVE, TO SUPPORT DOWNTOWN ARLINGTON BUSINESSES BY ACTIVATING LEVITT EVERY OPPORTUNITY SHE CAN.
Letatia is the Executive Director of the Levitt Pavilion which presents outdoor concerts with a broad-based calendar of professional musical artists in the heart of Downtown Arlington, Texas. Letatia’s nominator Beth says, “What makes her extraordinary is she took this position shortly before the pandemic hit. Letatia was forced into a role she had never anticipated. Suddenly, she wasn’t booking artists and planning concerts; she was canceling performances and pushing dates out while our country grappled with the outbreak of COVID. Letatia, however, has mastered the art of being flexible to the changing circumstances and figuring out how to stay relevant, how to provide music to avid fans, and how to support the music ecosystem.”
“She quickly crafted a plan of action to honor commitments to artists and sponsors alike,” Beth says. “First, Letatia began booking artists to live stream only; and then as soon as conditions allowed, the Levitt Pavilion staff sectioned off the lawn to provide safe, socially distanced squares for families and friends to listen to live music in open air. She didn't stop there....she also partnered with numerous other nonprofits in Arlington and welcomed them to host their events and fundraisers at the Levitt on the lawn. She works tirelessly to say yes, to keep music alive, to support Downtown Arlington businesses by activating Levitt every opportunity she can.”
When asked what inspires her, Letatia humbly shares, “I wake up every day and think how grateful [I am] for the love and kindness that surrounds me daily!”
