Kassandra F
Create the things you wish existed
Let's give it up for the incredible Kassandra, our newest Consuela Viva Babe Award recipient! Born and raised in Laredo, Texas, Kassandra embodies service to others, leadership, and a passion for empowering her community. She credits having such supportive parents as igniting her philanthropy and volunteerism.
At just 23, she initiated a scholarship and mentorship program for high school seniors in her hometown and funded it by saving the income from her summer internships. She continues to award three new scholarships annually and offers ongoing mentorship to them. Kassandra is a first-generation college graduate herself with a degree from UT Austin in Management Information Systems and Health Informatics Technology.
Kassandra's volunteering spirit is ridiculously awesome—she's actively involved with Latinitas, Greater Austin Hispanic Chambers of Commerce, Agile Austin, and the UT Hispanic Business Student Association. Her commitment shines through her mentorship, and ongoing support for various causes to uplift the Hispanic community.
"Kassandra has such positive energy and is always willing to share her knowledge and is great at uplifting young professionals and students. We feel her extraordinary support and enthusiasm anytime she is volunteering at Latinitas, especially with our Eco Chica conference. She also is an impactful mentor!" said the Latinitas team who nominated Kassandra.
Kassandra went above and beyond during the Eco Chica conference, one of the biggest conferences Latinitas hosts annually for girls ages 9-14. She was a ROCKSTAR committee member helping secure speakers and sponsors, and helping with several key behind-the-scenes tasks that significantly contributed to the conference's success.
Her life mantra, "Create the things you wish existed," echoes in every aspect of her life, whether it's mentoring students, teaching salsa classes, or fundraising for scholarships.
Kassandra, thank you for being a beacon of empowerment and a catalyst for bringing people together!
