DANIELLE C

Danielle is a teacher in Oxford, Alabama, and was nominated by her friend, Dawn. Danielle heard about a student at her school who needed a kidney. She felt called to get tested and learned she was a perfect match, but the student was able to receive a kidney before Danielle completed the final details of the donation. Dawn says, “She decided to continue the process- she was a perfect match again for someone and they got a kidney before her donation could be finalized. Finally, she was matched with someone who had given up hope on a long and healthy life. Because of her selfless act and not giving up on organ donation, this person has been given a new hope on health and longevity of life. This is an accurate picture of who Danielle is as a person. She is one of the most selfless and giving people I have ever known.”

Danielle’s actions speak volumes of her character. Dawn says, “She volunteers at Children’s Hospital, gives financially to needs in our community and beyond, supports friends, and is an amazing encourager. She deserves to be recognized in a special way for the way she loves people she knows and those she does not know.”

Danielle’s incredible gift started a wonderful ripple effect; Her kidney recipient’s wife also donated a kidney. Danielle shares how her faith guides her, “Obedience to Jesus is the mantra I live by. Nothing I do is for self-recognition, but in hopes of reflecting His perfect will and for His glory alone. I don’t deserve anything, but by grace, Jesus has allowed me the gift of living this beautiful life.”
