GOLDSBORO, NORTH CAROLINA

IT’S OUR PASSION AND DESIRE TO WORK BOLDLY AND FIERCELY TOGETHER WITH OUR LOCAL COMMUNITY AS WELL AS COMMUNITIES AND AUTHORITIES ACROSS THE STATE AND THE NATION TO REACH, RESCUE, AND RESTORE SURVIVORS OF SEX AND HUMAN TRAFFICKING.
Beverly is the CEO of Cry Freedom Missions in Goldsboro, North Carolina. Cry Freedom is a non-profit dedicated to rescuing and rehabilitating those enslaved in sex trafficking. Her nominator and former staff member Chretien says Beverly started Cry Freedom to “rescue survivors from human trafficking, place them in safe homes, provide rehab and trauma counseling for them, and employ survivors.” She is a boots-on-the-ground CEO who facilitates these rescues herself, looking for opportunities in local jails, hotels, and areas of prostitution to befriend the victims, often under extremely dangerous circumstances.

As part of the victims’ transition to re-engage in the community, Beverly empowers the victims, employing them to make jewelry as part of a boutique she established to raise money for their mission. It gives them a sense of purpose, provides healing and job skills, and yields Cry Freedom revenue to continue its mission.

“Human trafficking is right now, a 150 billion dollar industry, second only to drugs. You can sell a bag of drugs one time, but you can sell humans many times over. At Cry Freedom Missions, it’s our passion and desire to work boldly and fiercely together with our local community as well as communities and authorities across the state and the nation to reach, rescue, and restore survivors of sex and human trafficking,” Beverly says.

Beverly, we are eternally grateful for your courage, dedication, and triumphs! Because of you, so many survivors (who could be our sisters, daughters, brothers, or sons) caught in this vicious and inhumane plight have a new lease on life.
