What started as a simple lunch break at the Katy Consuela store turned into a heartfelt celebration. Vanessa thought she was just entering a raffle with her friend Annika. She was happily surprised when colleagues and the Consuela team started waving signs and shakers and cheering her on as she received the Consuela Viva Babe Award.
As Vanessa bravely fights breast cancer, she radiates positivity and grace. “Honestly, it’s my faith and the support of others who share my beliefs that keep me grounded,” she shared. “I know my words and attitude are important, and I try to stay optimistic.” Her daily devotion, love for nature walks, and passion for helping others add purpose and peace to her days.
Her nominator, Annika, said, “Vanessa has shown incredible resilience. Her bravery and determination are truly inspiring. She keeps coming to work every day with a positive attitude and that beautiful smile.” When asked about her favorite life mantra, Vanessa said, “Be kind to everyone you meet, for they are all fighting a battle.” She lives this mantra every day—spreading warmth, encouragement, and kindness wherever she goes.
