RACHEL G

I AM NOT SURE IF SHE SLEEPS. BUT I KNOW SHE GIVES HER BEST TO HER FAMILY, FRIENDS, CO-WORKERS, AND ANIMALS SHE WORKS WITH.
Rachel is a former teacher turned writer, speaker, and author, lives in Wiggins, Colorado, and was nominated by her friend, Val. They met three years ago at a new job. Val says, “We hit it off and started a solid, fast friendship like we had known each other since grade school. The type of friends that would have the 80’s clear phones and talk under our blankets about nerd stuff...not boys.”

As their friendship deepened, Val learned she had connected with an extraordinary woman. Val says, “Rachel married young and had 2 great kids. The marriage was tumultuous and ended. Yet, even through all of this, Rachel continued to be a teacher, mother, editor, write articles for other publications, help with local cattle organizations, active in Colorado Farm Bureau, work on the ranch raising show goats and cattle, and interview local, regional and national people involved with agriculture, ranching, farming, and livestock.”

Rachel remarried, has her third child, and has added more feathers to her cap. Val says, “She now has her own website, podcast, and has written 2 children's books- the third will be released in the fall- about livestock, farming, and ranching. I am not sure if she sleeps. But I know she gives her best to her family, friends, co-workers, and animals she works with.”
