“I can do all things through Christ

Congratulations to our newest Viva Babe, Melissa

She was surprised by cheers from her family, friends, board members, and the Consuela team as she received the Viva Babe Award! Nominated by the Abigail E. Keller Foundation board, Melissa was celebrated for her ridiculously awesome leadership, unwavering heart, and powerful impact.

Melissa is the founder of the Abigail E. Keller Foundation, inspired by her daughter Abbey's beautiful heart and legacy. Abbey faced more medical challenges in her 11 ½ years than most do in a lifetime—yet she always had a smile. Melissa shared, “She taught me that, no matter how bad you feel, be as positive as you can.”

After Abbey passed, Melissa and her husband Travis turned their heartbreak into purpose, launching the Abigail E. Keller Foundation to support medically fragile and terminally ill children and their families. Since 2019, the foundation has given over $400,000 in grants and direct support to 165 families across Central Texas.

Melissa is a real estate agent by day and an advocate for families 24/7. And her vision doesn’t stop there—she’s leading the effort to create Abbey House, the first pediatric respite and hospice care facility of its kind in Texas.

Her board says it best: “Melissa wears many hats—and somehow rocks them all with grace, grit, and a whole lot of heart… She’s not just making change—she is the change.”

Melissa finds joy in lifting others: “Helping families feel seen and supported brings me joy. It means so much to know Abbey’s story—and the stories of so many other kids—are making a difference.”

Her life mantra is, “I can do all things through Christ” (Philippians 4:13). She leans on her faith, which gives her courage.

Melissa, thank you for sharing your heart and honoring Abbey’s light every step of the way. We are so proud to celebrate you!
