MARGARITA G
THIS WOMAN IS LIVING PROOF THAT ANYONE CAN BE WHATEVER THEY WANT THROUGH HARD WORK, DETERMINATION, AND BELIEVING IN HERSELF.
Margarita is a Corporate Pilot from San Antonio, TX, and was nominated by her friend, John. John says when he first chatted with Margarita, “I discovered an amazing story of trials and tribulations. This is a woman who came from a simple background and through hard work and perseverance, became one of the top female pilots in the US.”
Margarita was born in a small pueblo in Jalisco, Mexico. She moved to Kansas at the age of 16, married, and had two children by the age of 19. She worked the night shift at a packing plant to single-handedly raise her children, learn how to speak English, and worked hard to earn her US citizenship.
Margarita knew she was destined for more! She changed careers to work as a mechanic for an aircraft manufacturing company, she earned a bachelor’s degree and began taking flying lessons. After 20 years in Kansas, she moved to Texas, started flying small corporate jets to and from Mexico, and earned her master’s degree. Margarita sought even greater challenges and landed a job with a charter aircraft company. This current job requires exceptionally long hours, taking her away from home at least 14 days at a time. Although it’s hectic, Margarita thrives in this environment and now flies the fastest private passenger jet in the world.
Margarita’s tenacity and dedication remind us that we can achieve anything we set our minds to. John says, “Captain Margarita is an inspiration to girls everywhere. This woman is living proof that anyone can be whatever they want through hard work, determination, and believing in herself.”
