LORRIE D
LORRIE LED HER TEAM WITH COMPASSION AND MORE COURAGE THAN ANYONE COULD IMAGINE THROUGH THE PANDEMIC AND THIS UNTHINKABLE EVENT. SHE WENT ABOVE AND BEYOND THE CALL OF DUTY.
Lorrie is a Respiratory Therapist and the Director of the Respiratory Department at a small rural hospital in North Texas and was nominated by her coworkers. Her team says, “A member of our Respiratory team was hospitalized with COVID with no family near and no loved ones by his side. His home was several hours away. His family was unable to make the trip to be with him. Lorrie and her team sat at his side when they weren’t working to take care of other patients; she and her team were his family.”
“Lorrie led her team with compassion and more courage than anyone could imagine through the pandemic and this unthinkable event. She went above and beyond the call of duty,” her team says. Sadly, this team member passed away. “After his passing, due to financial constraints and the distance of the journey, his family was unable to come to pick up his ashes. Lorrie chose to take time off to drive across the state to deliver his remains to his wife and family personally. That’s more than leadership, that’s love.”
Her team says, “Lorrie is the reason they keep going and that she is always first to jump in the line of fire when needed. She inspires them to keep up the fight, and she leads them by example.”
