When the mental health practice they supported was given only three days' notice to shut down, Kristal and Yasmeen didn’t hesitate to step up. They rolled up their sleeves to help keep the practice running. In uncertainty, they brought heartfelt compassion and unwavering dedication to ensure clients continued to receive care. As their supervisor, Staci shared, “Without these two ridiculously awesome women, my life and practice would be infinitely more difficult.”
Kristal, a single mom of two, stayed despite already having another job lined up. Her loyalty, work ethic, and care for others never wavered. Her joy comes from raising her kids with strong values and being part of a workplace that genuinely helps others heal. Her mantra is “Be yourself—everyone else is already taken.”
Yasmeen, a graduate student, lost her internship site and job all in one day. But instead of stepping away, she stepped up; her mantra, “I speak life over it, just roll with it,” perfectly captures her strength and faith. Her joy comes from knowing her kids can look up to her and see her pushing through life’s challenges with grace.
The surprise celebration left both women speechless. Kristal shared, “Nobody has ever done something this nice for me before.” Yasmeen said she held back tears until she got home.
