Life's a garden; dig it
Congratulations! Kiersten, a dedicated teacher and coach at Shawnee Middle School, was recently surprised with the Viva Babe award and gifts, thanks to her best friend Brittany, who lives 1,300 miles away. This heartwarming gesture highlights their deep bond and Kiersten's inspiring impact on those around her.
Kiersten was very shocked and emotional. Once she realized she was being recognized with an award and Brittany is who nominated her, that moment became a cherished memory. It was a wonderful and genuinely unexpected surprise to return home to.
"Kiersten is known for always looking for ways to help her students and seeing the best in people. She consistently puts others' needs before her own and radiates positivity. Despite her heavy workload, Kiersten achieved a significant milestone by earning her Master’s degree this May, moving closer to her dream of becoming a school counselor," shared Brittany, her nominator, who has known her for over 15 years. She also described Kiersten as the truest friend, a wonderful mom, wife, daughter, friend, sibling, and teacher. Her students look up to her, and she is a true inspiration to all.
Kiersten shared that her daughters, ages 3 and 1, are her biggest motivators. She values being a good role model and a positive influence on her girls. Her dad has always been positive and greatly influenced her.
She lives by two inspiring quotes: "Life's a garden; dig it," and "You just have to go with the flow, work with what you have, and stay positive." These mantras help her navigate the ever-changing world of teaching and life.
As a teacher, she finds joy in being a positive influence on her students and helping them in any way she can. She will begin her 7th year of teaching this upcoming school year. In her personal life, she loves taking care of her family and seeing them happy. Their happiness brings her immense joy.
Kiersten, your dedication, kindness, and unwavering positivity are truly remarkable. We are thrilled to honor her as our newest Viva Babe. Cheers to you, Kiersten, and congratulations on your well-deserved recognition!
