KENZIE H
IT'S ABOUT HOW YOU MAKE PEOPLE FEEL!
Kenzie is 16, and at age 10 she started the Make a Difference (MAD) Food Pantry in Mount Olive, North Carolina. Kenzie operates the food pantry with support from her parents and volunteers, as well as generous donations. The pantry has provided over 5 million meals since its beginning, and operations have expanded to include a mobile disaster feeding program that has responded to natural disasters in North Carolina, Texas, Georgia, and Tennessee, and a kid’s mobile pantry, providing meals to kids when they are out of school, and several other outreach programs.
Kenzie’s mom, Paige, nominated her saying, “Kenzie is an inspiration to EVERYONE she meets and brings joy to so many people’s lives…an old soul in a child’s body. At 16 years old, she has provided hope to so many people and shown what love can do. She works 50 plus hours in her pantry doing food pick-ups (loading and unloading trucks, box by box), packing fresh food for her clients and then coming home at 7 – 8 pm to do schoolwork. This fall she will begin college a year early.”
We love the mission and motto of Kenzie’s MAD Food Panty, "We are stopping hunger one meal, one family at a time by providing nutritious food to those in need with compassion and love - because it's more than just food; it's about how you make people feel!"
