SHE IS UNLIKE ANY OTHER LEADER I HAVE EVER MET AND ASKS FOR NOTHING IN RETURN; SHE DOES EVERYTHING ON HER OWN, ORGANIZING CANNED FOOD EVENTS, TAKING THE GIRLS ON HIKES AND CAMPING TRIPS, AND HELPING THEM TO GROW INTO AMAZING YOUNG LADIES
Katherine, a third-generation Girl Scout, is a Girl Scout Troop Leader in Mesa, Arizona, and was nominated by Robin, a mom of one of her Girl Scouts. Robin and her family recently moved to Arizona, and Katherine welcomed Robin’s daughter into her troop with open arms. Katherine gives of her whole heart to a group of 25 girls of all ages and continues to welcome new girls in the troop. Robin shares, “she is unlike any other leader I have ever met and asks for nothing in return; She does everything on her own, organizing canned food events, taking the girls on hikes and camping trips, and helping them to grow into amazing young ladies. She cares so much for all girls and is invested in helping them become Go-getters, Innovators, Risk-takers, and Leaders (yes…G.I.R.L.)!”⠀
Katherine also has a family of her own, raising a high school daughter and home-schooling her two other young children. Plus, Katherine works evenings as a server at a restaurant. Robin continues, “Katherine is absolutely unbelievable. I don’t know how she does it all!!”
Here’s to you, Viva Babe Katherine, for your unwavering dedication and your desire to serve as a role model for our future female leaders. Your impact is ridiculously awesome, and your troop will remember your mentorship forever!
