ELISA A

ELISA HAS MADE A POSITIVE AND LONG-LASTING CHANGE IN THE LIVES OF SO MANY STUDENTS AND THEIR FAMILIES.
Elisa works as a Bilingual Early Childhood Special Education Teacher in a large public school district in Colorado. Additionally, she works with a local agency to provide bilingual special education services to preschoolers. She was nominated by her friend, Teresa, who says, “Elisa has made a positive and long-lasting change in the lives of so many students and their families.” In addition to her role as a bilingual SPED teacher, she also manages El Grupo Vida, a local parent support group for children with special needs. Teresa says, “El Group Vida has grown in its membership and community reputation and parents have greatly increased their skills and advocacy on behalf of their children as a result of Elisa’s efforts.”

Elisa jumps into action in a time of need. She spearheaded the collection of essential supplies when Hurricane Maria hit Puerto Rico in 2017. The storm wreaked havoc on the island and impacted Elisa’s parents and extended family; Elisa worked tirelessly to collect supplies and even secured a private jet to deliver them free of charge.

Teresa says, “Elisa is selfless, always eager to lend a helping hand, and keen on developing her professional skills to better serve her students and their families. She is always so positive in her attitude, and resolute in making her part of the world a better place.”

Elisa thank you for your compassion and your dedication to going the extra mile for others. You are a shining star, and we applaud you for your infinite awesomeness!
