DALE H

IT’S ONLY TEMPORARY.
Lifting the world with ridiculously awesome energy and a deep passion for volunteerism, Dale is a treasure, a gift to those in her midst, and a truly remarkable Viva Babe!

Nominated by her husband, Michael, here’s a glimpse of Viva Babe Dale’s beautiful gifts of giving:

• She was a volunteer video interviewer for Steven Spielberg’s Shoah Foundation, whose mission was to record the stories of survivors of the Holocaust and to place them in repositories around the world. The foundation is near and dear to Dale’s heart as her dad’s entire family was from Czechoslovakia and they perished in the Holocaust. She interviewed over 50 survivors, memorializing their stories, and shares this history with children through programs at local schools.

• For 23 years, Dale has volunteered with the victim’s advocate unit of the Boulder Police Dept and, more recently, she’s become a volunteer of the Colorado victim’s advocate unit.

• For the last 7 years, she has been working with the ‘I Have A Dream Foundation’, whose mission is to help at-risk children graduate from high school and have the opportunity to get a college education with the help of a scholarship award.

• During the war in Kosovo in 1998, Dale started the Boulder Bears project and collected 7000 teddy bears along with monetary donations and had them shipped to refugee camps in Macedonia. She also led the Broomfield Bears project and supported the children of Haiti with donations when the earthquake hit in 2010.

Dale wholeheartedly believes in this message of positivity and it is a great reminder today, “It’s only temporary.”
